As I am pure vegetarian it's very difficult to find pure veg. Restaurant. I have got reference about Saravana bhawan from my friend. Hotel was located walking distance from tsim sha sui. There are other Indian restaurants nearby too. Food was very delicious. Mini idli, Uththtapam and filter coffee are favourite.
On the bustling Nathan road and infamous Chung king Mansion, this restaurant is a gem in dust (Gudari Ka lal) to the vegetarian Indian. But beware, the touts/agents will almost grab your arm and pull you into their restaurant. The resto vie for your patronage and the first timers really feel scared to enter it. The Chung King Mansion can be called a dingy building or if one have seen Nehru Palace in New Delhi, imagine buildings without Any outdoor balcony, you can understand how does it look. This restaurant has little cramped eating space, small shop converted to Restaurant but once you try there food you will feel at home, the food their is finger licking good. After Entering the Chung King Mansion Just take the first stairs to first floor and take left to the end of the Veranda and again take left you will find it after few other indian non veg resto there. Its worth Finding it. When you are there, they are at your service and make you feel nice comfortable and will wait eagerly for what you have to order. Dont Mistake it with: Sarvanaa Bhavan at Ashley Road Alos in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong Sarvana Bhavan is expensive Professional tasting Primarily South india resto although they also serve North Indian food. The restaurant name is "SARVANA" and its in Chung King Mansion On Nathan Road Very Near to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station. By Hong Kong Standard this place is budget Eatery and they serve you Home style food and very competitive price if compared to other Indian Veg restaurants in Hong Kong. Unlike others there is no Other Charges or Say service charge. They don't even expect tips. What more, they do free hotel/home delivery. The people are very nice, friendly & Inviting. To top it all they are Open till 23:30, Among all indian Veg restaurants They are the only one open that late. So if you are late to reach Tsim Sha Tsui just head to Saravana at Chung king Mansion And Eat like a king. My suggestions Order Veg Biriyani and Chola Puri. They serve biryani with Curd which tastes like Home curd which is hard to find outside india. They said they Set the dahi in there resto from Amul Milk thus giving this authentic taste. If you miss you indian food way back home and don't want a whole in your pocket then this is the place to be. THEY ALSO SERVE JAIN FOOD WHEN MENTION WHILE ORDERING.
The best place one could find in a foreign land. We had a list of restaurants to try based on all the reviews and ratings from various sites including tripadvisor. But chanced upon this one during an evening stroll and must admit it was the best food one could possibly find. The place is small, homely and run by a bunch of attentive folks. My fussy lil girl was hooked to their pooris and that was her only fav meal of the trip. We stuck to North indian food and loved the rotis, parathas, dl makhani, koftas, biryanis and jeera rice. After having food here, we did land up at Branto and Sangeetha but just disliked the food (quality/quantity and pricing). Food in HK is expensive but if it satisfies a hungry traveller, what more could one ask. Saravana i must say is one of the hidden gems at Tsim Sha tsui. Oh yeah, their tea is very refreshing too !!
